History of Cereals πŸ₯£

Breakfast cereals date back to 1863, when a doctor named James Caleb Jackson, also known as a β€œhealth reformer,” began experimenting with cold cereal as a remedy for illnesses at the health spa he ran.

In the late 19th century, Dr. John Harvey Kellogg invented cereal as a healthy and easy-to-digest food for his patients at the Battle Creek Sanitarium. Kellogg's first cereal, "Granula," was made by baking wheat dough and then crumbling it into small pieces.

Later, his brother Will Keith Kellogg created a version of the cereal that was easier to chew and digest and named it "Corn Flakes." This new cereal became incredibly popular, and many other companies began creating their versions.

Today, the largest cereal brand in the United States is Cheerios, with a revenue of $18.126 billion and 139.1 million boxes sold in 2021.

Cereal is a great breakfast option for many reasons. It's quick and easy to prepare, perfect for busy mornings. It's also a nutritious choice, as many kinds of cereal are made with whole grains and fortified with vitamins and minerals. Additionally, cereal can be a great source of fiber, which can help regulate digestion and keep you feeling full throughout the day.
